GUAYTIAO DE GUATU MA CU DEL CONCILIO TAINO
Las Chronicas dicen que la lenguaje Taina fue uno de las mas dulce en el mundo. Todavia es -- hoy dia! Gracias a mi Cacike tengo el privilegio a escuchar conversaciones en Taino!! Lamentable los diccionarios Taino que son disponible en el mundo no tiene suficiente informacion para gente empezando formar frases completa. Puede compartir algunas sugerencias para gente empezando?
The Chronicles say that the Taino language was "gentle, the sweetest in the world." It still is today! Thanks to my Cacike I have the privilege of hearing conversations in Tainos. Unfortunately Taino dictionaries available in the world today do not have enough information for beginners to form complete sentences. Can you share suggestions to help beginners get started?

Thanks for letting me join so I can answer this for you.
I think the main theme of us getting our languages back is that "no man is an island"
Usually when I do my language work I have the dictionary out plus the Arawak dictionary, the Carib dictionary and the Garifuna dictionary. (my workspace can get very crowded!) It would be impossible to for me to do the work that I do without ever using any of these resources. Eventually I plan to go and visit these communities because a dictionary alone can never teach you how to speak the language. It will take a while but it is slowly coming along.
Yes there isn't a lot for the beginner in the dictionaries, and there are a lot of sketchy/questionable things in there too. The state of linguistics has advanced a lot since those dictionaries were written.
But all is not lost.
If there are regional Taino words that occur write it down, as well as any cultural information surrounding it. The elderly people have a WEALTH of information that very few people are taking the time to listen to. And when I say elders I mean 70s, 80s, 90s, 100s not necessarily you young 50 and 60 year old folks! :-P
Also in the stuff recorded there are some interesting clues about the structure of the language, which shows an Arawakan structure. Analyze that, it can be used. For example I can plainly see that Taino verbs are similar to Arawak verbs in the way they are put together.
Now you've got your recorded words and you've got your structure and you can start putting stuff together.
For example the word Manicato (manikato) has the prefix Ma- meaning "not" or negation and the suffix -to which is the 3rd person singular (she).
The word Taino, has the plural -no on it. This is used in all Caribbean Arawakan languages as a plural for human nouns. You have the word Guatiao or (Watiao) which has the suffix Wa- meaning "we" or "our" and "atiao" meaning "relative". Look at all the words you can produce:
matiao "not a relative"
matiaono "people who are not our relatives'
watiao "our relative"
watiaono "our relatives"
anikato: "she is moved, swayed" (this translation is more vague)
mataino ' people who are not good'
taito " she is good"
mataito ' she is not good'
wataino ' our people who are good'
etc...
You will have to look at other languages as well to help you. Be cautious of relying solely on one written source. You should be looking at a variety of sources.
Nacion Taina has a good start, but I know there are political issues that prevent people from working together which is unfortunate. There is a basic structure that is present and then the various groups can add their own dialects to it if people could just work together.
The point is, it will take time and cooperation, but at the end it will be something that we can all be proud of.

Interesting even in some of these words I can see the structure.
For example in the word "busica"
Busica "you give", b = you, your, (u)sica = give
These words are similar in other languages
Kalinago: isjika
Arawak: isika
Garifuna: ichiga
Other groups have started language councils. The problem is it doesn't seem like people are working together.... I know of no other indigenous caribbean person other than myself who is studying to be a linguist. To be honest it gets lonely.

Ambos eran alfabeto . Nunca llegaron a estudiar.. Lo que yo opino es que esto es maneras de habla que se quedaron indiginas. Una pregunta, Que signfica el nombre Caguax?

How life is. Reading your coments as always with my mind and heart open. To me the Taino language and spirituality is very important , the ability to converse and pray in our language. Your explaination of the "j" sound being replace by the "x" sound answered one of the questions I've asked for many years. (In spanish the "j' sounds like "h" and the "x" sounds like sh.) When my grandparents , aunt and uncle pronunced the word Caguas , they omited the "s". They would pronouns it Cauwah or Caguah. My grandparents were from Caguas & Gurabo. Many people when question would say the are hillbilly words or uneducated people.
Both were iliterate. Neither attended school. What I believe is that these are indiginous word pasted on to them. One question , what is the meanig of the name Caguax
