Gracias a mi Cacike tengo el privilegio de escuchar conversaciones en Taino -- como dicen Las Chronicas -- la lenguaje las mas dulce en el mundo. El Cacike y yo (Tekina-eirú) estamos trabajando un proyecto de lenguaje "revitalization" para restorar el dialecto Taino de la Montañas Sureste de Boriken, una region que consistia de: Cayey, San Lorenzo, Caguas, Comerio, Cidra, Aibonito, y Orocovis. Tenemos un sueño que un dia vamos a escuchar voces de niños hablando Taino de nuevo en las montañas de nuestros antepasados.

Aqui, invitamos a todos a compartir/conversar en Taino -- como puede -- asi ensayamos que sabemos, y aprendemos mas!

Thanks to my Cacike, I have the privilege of enjoying conversations in Taino -- as the Chronicles say -- the sweetest language in the world! The Cacike and I (Tekina-eirú) are working on a language revitalization project to restore the Taino dialect specific to the Southeast mountain region of Boriken, a region that specifically consists of Cayey, San Lorenzo, Caguas, Comerio, Cidra, Aibonito, y Orocovis. We have a dream that someday we will hear voices of children speaking Taino once again in the mountains of our Ancestos in Boriken.

A poem with English and Taino.... There's no word for "end" in Taino so instead using koabei/coabey also represent from beginning and end so be creative to add koabei in it and jari/Jarili also mean strength or bacoa mean strong or both same depend on how we say it? Well here the poem enjoy:) .....:

This was a response by the Cacike over on the pueblo side of the Form:

Entre los nombres mas sagrados de nuestros Ancestros, está el nombre de nuestra Madre Atta abey, siempr decimos Atabey para evitar pronunciar la a que serepite seguida pr otra A, Atabey es un nombre en lengua Turca que significa El hijo promogenito es como decir; Junior.

Mas sin embargo se han desarrollado discusiones por medio de la cibernética don algunos ignorantes han dicho que ese nombre de Nuestra Madre no existe!

Mas yo he encontrado que el nombre de Atta =- abey viene de dos palabras; Atta= significa; Montes tupidos en estados salvajes o virgenes, y Abey, significa; extenciones de tierras hasta donde alcanza a ver tu vista!

Por lo tanto el nombre de Atabey, no es Atabey, si no, ATTA-ABEY. POR LO TANTO ; SIGNIFICADO DE Atabey es; Junior en la lengua turca, pero, ATTA _Abey, nuestra madre!

Among the most sacred names of our Ancestors, is the name of our Mother Atta abey, siempr say Atabey to avoid pronouncing the pr followed serepite to another A, Atabey language is a Turkish name that means the child is like saying promogenito; Junior .

But yet have been developed through discussions of cybernetics don some ignorant have said the name of Our Mother does not exist!

But I have found that the name of Atta = - abey comes from two words: Atta = means; Montes dense in wild and virgin states, and Abey means; extensions of land as far as your eyes see!

Therefore Atabey name is not Atabey, if not, ATTA-Abey. THEREFORE, THE MEANING OF Atabey is, Junior in the Turkish language, but ATTA _Abey, our mother!

Hi!  We just had a wonderful Taino Retreat here in Texas with the Cacike and members of El Pueblo de Guatu Ma-cu.  The team included Guatu Guaribo who is also passionate about our language.  Thank you Guatu Guaibo for taking the lead to help us with these exercises!

I have been receiving renewed interest in learning our language.  We were learning how to take all the words we know in Taino, and learn how to have a conversation!  Let us continue from there.  Below are the exercises we are working on.  Excercises #2 and #5 are complete, #1, #3 and #4 are opportunities to learn.  So don't feel shy!  Try your best!

Voy a dar mi intento de contar en taino, pero que conste que estoy adivinando con un poco que se! no doy certeza de nada!--- heketi, yamoca, yamocun, yamoncobre, dacabo, caboraim, caborraimoca, caboraimocun, caboraimocobre, yamocabo. :P me lo invente! Pero estoy segura mis ancestros tienen que haber sabido contar hasta mas de diez. Que pena no hemos recobrado esta parte.

Otro intento hacia esta frase (wao, no puedo creer que esto hace ya tres anios! y yo escribia "jajon"...LOL) : Mi tatarabuelo me desperto para decirme que estaba orgulloso de mi. Que yo hablaba taino. Que taino es el idioma de mi gente.....*A janiguarey guari Guaracoel , ahija daca: da nichi chali ma, tekina eiru, gua ahijara taino.
